Carbon is the New Oil

Oil are not only a source of energy, but also a major source of carbon for our modern world. Almost everything we touch, wear, consume or ride on either directly comes from, or heavily depends on the carbon-based molecules derived out of oil.

The key to achieve carbon neutrality lies in slowing down and eventually stopping the extraction of oil. And to do that, we need to first find alternative sources of both energy and carbon.

Renewable energy has gradually replaced fossil fuels; however, we do not yet know how to replace oil as a source of carbon. The yearly productivity of nature’s photosynthesis machine cannot match the cumulative outcome of millions of years of ancient forestry.

The only solution is to capture carbon dioxide directly from the air (and ocean) at large scale and convert it into all the things we need in our modern life. We will need a lot of energy to capture and convert carbon. It needs to be 100% renewable.

Here is our Secret Master Plan:

1. Capture carbon dioxide from the air in large quantities
2. Convert carbon dioxide into things we use in our life
3. Slow down and eventually stop taking oil out of the ground
