This round was co-led by existing shareholder YRD Investments and new investors Gaorong Ventures and BioTrack Capital, with participation from strategic investors including CATL, Sungrow, and Efung Capital. All existing shareholders also followed on in the round.

The proceeds will be used to support the construction of Carbonology’s 1,000-ton DAC pilot plant in Ningxia, scale up its e-SAF production processes, further iterate its core technologies, and recruit top global talent, accelerating the company’s critical transition from technical validation to large-scale commercialization.

Carbonology is rapidly advancing the deployment of its 1,000-ton DAC pilot project. The company has completed core technology validation and process optimization, with key performance metrics reaching internationally advanced levels.

The team brings together senior experts across the chemical and energy sectors, with full-spectrum capabilities spanning from laboratory research to industrial-scale deployment. Leveraging the scarcity and defensibility of its technology, Carbonology has already secured strong cooperation intentions with multiple industrial leaders and strategic customers, establishing a clear pathway to commercialization.

Investor Perspectives

Hu Hanyang

Chairman, YRD Investments

As a lead investor who has supported Carbonology since its inception and continued to increase our commitment over time, YRD Investments contributes not only capital, but also a long-term conviction in a defining mission of our era: transforming carbon into valuable resources.

We have strong confidence in the team led by Robin. Built on the concept of “flexible chemicals powered by flexible energy,” the company bypasses nature’s million-year photosynthetic process to directly convert air into sustainable aviation fuel, high-value chemicals, and advanced materials. Through industrial innovation, it is opening up a new carbon-negative pathway—one in which production itself reduces emissions.

From the first process line in Lingang, Shanghai, to the development of the 1,000-ton pilot facility in Ningxia, and onward to future commercial SAF projects, we have witnessed the evolution of a company that has transformed a spark of laboratory insight into a powerful industrial engine. Our conviction remains steadfast, and we look forward to continuing this journey together.

Gaorong Ventures Investment Team

Global energy security concerns and the push for deep decarbonization are converging, as renewable energy transitions from a supplementary source to a large-scale alternative to fossil fuels. Carbon substitution is rapidly becoming a central pillar of the global energy transition.

Rather than focusing on isolated technological breakthroughs, Carbonology adopts a system-level, value-chain approach—integrating direct air capture, green hydrogen synthesis, Fischer–Tropsch processes, and AI-driven optimization. By leveraging China’s abundant renewable energy resources and well-established industrial supply chains, the company is building a fully integrated ecosystem for zero-carbon synthetic fuel production.

With a clear and efficient industrialization roadmap—from its 100-ton validation system to the upcoming 1,000-ton pilot—Carbonology demonstrates strong execution capabilities. We believe the company is well-positioned to continue refining its processes and scaling production, supported by its rare and comprehensive technological moat.

From an investment perspective, Carbonology represents not only an opportunity in aviation decarbonization, but also a fundamental rethinking of how next-generation liquid fuels will be produced. The company that first delivers stable, cost-effective, and scalable carbon substitution solutions will play a pivotal role in the next phase of global energy and industrial transformation.
